Martine Ferland joins WSP's board of directors

Martine Ferland, former CEO of HR consultancy Mercer, has been appointed as a member of WSP’s board of directors and as a member of its governance, ethics, and compensation committee.

Ferland is a professional services industry veteran with over 40 years of experience in HR consulting, talent strategy, and pension investment.

She recently retired from Mercer after serving as president and CEO between March 2019 and March 2024. Before that, she was group president, president for Europe and Pacific, and co-president of the global health business. Ferland joined Mercer in 2011 as head of the retirement business in Europe and the Pacific.

Before that she spent over 20 years at the predecessor firms of Willis Towers Watson, serving as director for Canada retirement at Towers Watson and as global consulting group leader and Asia retirement business leader at Towers Perrin.

Ferland has a bachelor’s degree in actuarial sciences from L'Université Laval and is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

WSP’s Canadian business earlier this year appointed Pierre Pichet as chief operating officer and Jazz Pabla as chief innovation officer.
