BDO Lixar rebrands to BDO Digital
BDO Canada, a mid-market accounting and consulting firm, on Monday announced the official launch of its BDO Digital division.
The move completes the integration of BDO Lixar, which for the last four years served as the firm’s technology advisory division. BDO acquired Lixar, an Ottawa-based IT consultancy, in March 2020. At its inception, the division had approximately 250 employees.
“As one of the co-founders of Lixar, I’m proud to see how far the firm has come over the last 23 years, especially as part of BDO,” said Emmanuel Florakas, partner and national leader of data and AI at BDO Digital. “I’m excited for what the future holds as we continue to harness the full potential of technology for our clients.”
The switch to BDO Digital aligns the Canadian member firm with the branding of other firms in the BDO global accountancy network, including BDO USA. The American firm created its BDO Digital arm in 2020.
BDO Digital in Canada launches with more than 500 employees and 1,300 clients across the country. The firm has alliance partnerships with many tech platforms, including AWS, Oracle, Ceridian, and Microsoft, and was named a 2023 Microsoft Security Partner of the Year and received a 2023 AI Impact Award.
“From artificial intelligence to cybersecurity, we’re able to help clients of all sizes with their business needs and help them gain a competitive advantage,” said Rishan Lye, Canadian leader of BDO Digital. “Our team has grown, and we have built up a range of digital capabilities to support organizations in a constantly changing environment.”
BDO Canada has over 5,000 people across 100 offices nationwide providing services in audit, tax, and advisory. The firm has annual revenue of $871 million.
