Global IT consultancy Sourced Group has made three appointments within its executive leadership team. Wilson Lee, based in Toronto, has been named chief financial officer; John Painter, based in Singapore, has been promoted to VP of strategy and innovation; and Ian McMaugh, also in Singapore, has been appointed managing director, ASEA.

Wilson Lee, who has been working with Sourced since 2016, joins the firm as its full-time CFO, where he will be responsible for global financial operations including financial planning, legal, risk management, taxation, among other areas.

Lee brings extensive experience in finance, operations, capital markets, and M&A to the role. He was previously a partner at BrightIron, an advisory firm catering to growth technology companies. Before that, he was a CFO for a number of tech startups, including Mazooma, Cavet Technologies, Fortiva, BorderWare Technologies, and ActivPlant. He began his career as a consultant at Arthur Andersen, where he spent seven years and rose to the position of senior manager.

"Wilson's deep financial and operational knowledge will support the company's global expansion as we bring new offerings to market and enter new geographies,” Jonathan Spinks, CEO of Sourced Group, said.

John Painter has been with Sourced since 2012, and has nearly a decade of IT engineering and consulting experience. Painter joined the firm as a solutions architect, and rose to the position of managing director for the ASEAN (Southeast Asia) region. During his two-year tenure in the role, Painter grew the region from three to 20 staff, and acquired marquee clients such as Singapore Airlines, Certis, and RHB Singapore.

As VP of strategy and innovation, Painter will lead the development and go-to-market strategy for Sourced's Cloud at Scale solution framework, while assisting with key client acquisition and retention.

“I'm excited to announce John's promotion. He established our presence in ASEAN and was instrumental in growing our business there,” Spinks said. “His successful Singapore assignment and technical vision will be of tremendous benefit to our international team and clients as he takes on a globally focused role."

Ian McMaugh replaces Painter as managing director, ASEAN, bringing 20 years of IT experience. He will be responsible for expanding Sourced’s footprint across Asia while managing the Singapore office.

McMaugh joins Sourced from Orange Business Services, where he spent ten years and was most recently head of cloud for the APAC region. In the role, McMaugh managed the firm’s cloud sales and consulting team across six APAC locations and 13 cities. Prior to that, he served as regional head of solutions for APAC, and before that was head of business development for Australia.

Before Orange Business Services, McMaugh was a principal solutions consultant at ERP consultancy Professional Advantage, where he spent a decade.

“Ian's extensive track record in delivering cloud solutions and growing large consulting teams will ensure we continue to deliver innovative, client-centric outcomes for our ASEAN customers while scaling our operations in the region,” said Spinks.

Headquartered in Toronto, Sourced focuses on delivering cloud transformations to clients in highly regulated industries. The company has further offices in Singapore and Sydney, Australia.

Earlier this year, Sourced was named one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers.
