Deloitte Canada acquires Vancouver-based Pocketed

Deloitte Canada has acquired Pocketed, a Vancouver-based technology platform that helps businesses secure government funding.

Founded in 2021, Pocketed is an intelligent matching platform that draws on a comprehensive database of funding programs to match clients with the most suitable opportunities in grants, scientific research & experimental development (SR&ED), tax credits, and incentives across North America.

Since its founding, Pocketed has helped more than 17,000 businesses access over $200-million in government funding.

The boutique firm, which has 12 employees listed on its website, also provides related services in grant writing and consulting.

Co-founders Brianna Blaney and Aria Hahn, alongside the Pocketed team, will join Deloitte. The firm will rebrand to “Pocketed, a Deloitte business” and will join Deloitte’s investment and innovation incentives (Gi3) practice.

The Gi3 practice in Canada has more than 150 practitioners who help clients secure various forms of non-dilutive funding.

Deloitte last year acquired Flow, a Toronto-based firm specializing in SR&ED tax credits.
