Sapling Financial Consultants hires Maria Cherkasova as senior engagement manager
Sapling Financial Consultants, a Toronto-based financial consulting firm, has hired Maria Cherkasova as senior engagement manager.
Cherkasova brings over 16 years of experience in management consulting, investment analysis, and audit. She joins Sapling from KPMG, where she spent the last two years in the management consulting practice in Toronto.
Before that, Cherkasova spent over five years at PwC – joining the Moscow office as a manager before transferring to the Toronto office, where she was a senior manager working on engagements in deals modeling, data analytics, and strategy.
Earlier in her career she held investment management and analysis roles at AHML, Capital Group, and Venture Investment and Yield Management LLC. Cherkasova began her career in the audit practice of KPMG.
She has a master’s degree in finance from Tomsk State University in Russia and holds ACCA, CFA, CPA, and CGA designations.
Sapling has since January added nine new analysts, associates, and consultants to its Toronto office. The firm, which has 25 employees listed on its website, expects a 55% annual expansion over the next three years.
Sapling also recently launched a new website featuring an array of white papers and case studies.
“We are excited to welcome Maria Cherkasova and our new team members, enhancing our capabilities to deliver top-tier services across North America," said Rob Hong, co-founder and CEO of Sapling Financial Consultants. "With our strategic hires and the launch of our enhanced website featuring a comprehensive resource hub, we are committed to delivering exceptional value and insights to our clients.”
Founded in 2015, Sapling provides due diligence and Office of the CFO consulting services to private equity firms, portfolio companies, investment banks, sellers, and others across the private market ecosystem in Canada and the US.
The consultancy earlier this year hired Morné Viljoen as senior engagement manager and Chris Vyse as contract VP for sales, as well as promoted Dave O’Brien to engagement manager.
