Michael Bains joins BDO Canada as M&A advisory partner
Michael Bains has joined BDO Canada as an M&A advisory partner within the financial advisory services practice.
Based in Vancouver, Bains will provide investment banking services to privately held and family businesses within the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
He has more than 15 years of professional services experience, with a focus on providing advisory services in M&A, divestitures, and capital raising. Bains has supported a wide range of transactions with advice in valuation, deal strategy, diligence, and negotiation.
He joins BDO from Grant Thornton, where he spent three years as a partner in the transactions practice. Before that, he spent four years as a partner in the corporate finance practice of Transition Advisory and three years as an independent consultant.
Earlier in his career, Bains spent three years in the M&A advisory practice of PwC and four years in the assurance advisory practice of Grant Thornton.
He has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of British Columbia, and a chartered professional accountant designation.

BDO earlier this year welcomed Keith Keating, EdD, as its first chief learning and development officer.
