Peter Filato joins WSP Canada as chief financial officer
Peter Filato has joined WSP Canada, a design and engineering consulting firm, as chief financial officer.
In his new role, Filato will oversee the finance function of the Montreal-headquartered firm’s Canadian operations. The broader firm has more than 66,000 people in 40 countries.
Filato has 25+ years of finance experience. He joins WSP from Telecon, a Montreal-based telecom network design and construction firm, where he spent over four years as CFO. Before that, Filato spent 13 years at Gildan Activewear, where he was latterly CFO for manufacturing. He also served as VP of performance improvement and enterprise risk management.Earlier in his career, Filato was VP of finance at Alcan and SNC-Lavalin. He began his career at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, where he was an audit manager.
Filato has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Concordia University and a chartered accountant designation.

WSP in August announced the divestment of Louis Berger Services, a US-based provider of operations and maintenance services for military installations and transport infrastructure.
