PMA Brethour launches in-house residential consulting firm
PMA Brethour Realty Group – a Markham-based firm providing services in new home and condominium sales, marketing, and research – has launched PMA360, an in-house residential consulting firm.
PMA360 will be run “in partnership” with Jeanhy Shim, a 29-year veteran of the real estate development industry, according to a realease from PMA. The firm will provide a full suite of consulting services to support developers building mid-rise condominiums in established neighbourhoods.
“There is a growing demand for mid-rise condos across the Toronto region as the aging baby boomers’ housing needs and lifestyle aspirations are changing, but they want to stay in the neighbourhoods where they currently live,” said Andrew Brethour, executive chairman of PMA Brethour.
Shim added, “It’s tricky making these smaller buildings feasible from a financial and planning approvals perspective and there is virtually no margin for error, which is why we launched PMA360 – to help developers make better decisions and achieve success in delivering these much-needed mid-rise buildings.”Shim has worked in the real estate development industry in the GTA and Southern Ontario since 1992, supporting developers and financial institutions on land due diligence, strategic master planning, market research, feasibility analysis, marketing and sales, and product design and development.
Shim has run her independent strategic research and consulting firm, Housing Lab Toronto, since 2013. Before that, she was VP of strategic planning and marketing at Mattamy Homes, VP of sales and marketing at Streetcar Developments, and president at ThinkBUILD Consulting. Earlier in her career, Shim was a senior market analyst at N. Barry Lyon Consultants, a marketing and research consultant at Monarch Corporation, and VP of research and operations at MarketVision Real Estate Corporation.
She currently serves on the board of directors for Waterfront Toronto and Urban Land Institute Toronto.
Shim holds a master’s degree in European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a bachelor’s degree in political science from McGill University.
“Jeanhy brings a particular expertise in mid-rise condo and strategic infill neighbourhood development, construction, design, sales and marketing to PMA360. We look forward to adding her exceptional insight to our team,” said Christopher Markovic, CEO of PMA Brethour.
Founded in 1964, PMA Brethour delivers services in sales and marketing, market research, and advisory for new homes, resorts, condominiums, and retirement community clients. The firm has a sales team of more than 100 people across offices in Markham, Toronto, Ottawa, and Calgary.
