GLJ acquires energy consultancy Petrel Robertson Consulting Ltd.
GLJ, a Calgary-based energy consulting firm, has acquired Petrel Robertson Consulting Ltd. (PRCL), a Calgary-based geoscience and engineering consulting.
Founded in 1972 as an oil and gas consultancy, PRCL today provides diverse geoscience, engineering, and management services to clients across the globe. The boutique firm has particular expertise working on subsurface projects.
PRCL has six professionals listed on its website.
GLJ’s acquisition of PRCL will expand its ability to support clients with technical insights, studies, and specialized geoscience and engineering advisory.
As part of the transaction, president Brad Hayes and managing partner Kathleen Dorey will join GLJ as senior geoscience advisors.
“We identified significant opportunities to build on our growing studies portfolio, and bringing the strength of PRCL into GLJ supports our long-term strategy while creating new opportunities for our clients and our team,” said Mike Livingstone, SVP of geosciences at GLJ.
GLJ was also founded in 1972 and has more than 100 engineers, geoscientists, and business professionals. The firm has practices in reserves and certification, sustainability and emissions management, geothermal evaluation, and carbon capture and storage evaluation.
“Bringing GLJ and Petrel Robertson Consulting Ltd. together represents a strategic alignment of two highly respected organizations with shared values, complementary expertise, and a common commitment to delivering exceptional services for clients,” Dorey said.
