Energy consultancy GLJ marks 50 years in business
GLJ, a Calgary-based energy sector consulting firm, celebrated its 50th anniversary yesterday.
Founded in 1972, GLJ has advised private and public sector clients on a variety of energy plays and projects around the world. The consultancy’s team of 100+ engineers, economists, and geoscientist work with hundreds of local and global clients annually, including producers, government agencies, Indigenous groups, cleantech firms, startups, and financial and legal industry firms.
GLJ offers consulting in oil and gas reserves and resources, emerging energy and innovation, technical services, litigation support, strategy, M&A, ESG, and training. The firm – which has mapped every reservoir in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin – also provides proprietary products in price forecasting and industry intelligence.
GLJ also has more than 30 years of experience in carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) – with expertise across site selection, economics, and utilizing carbon as a commodity. The firm has advised on CO2 projects for government, producer, midstream, and industrial clients in Canada and globally.
