Doane Grant Thornton adds C. Nancy Birtch and ProVerus
Doane Grant Thornton, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has acquired C. Nancy Birtch, a North Bay, ON-area accountancy, and ProVerus, a Red Deer, AB-based accountancy.
Effective October 3, Nancy Birtch is transitioning her practice to Doane Grant Thornton and retiring after a more than 40-year career. She ran her independent practice since 2019, and before that was a partner at KPMG and a principal at Doane Grant Thornton.
"In making the decision to retire, knowing that my clients would be well taken care of was my top consideration,” said Birtch. “Transitioning clients to Doane Grant Thornton is an ideal situation – they’ll have access to an expanded service offering while I can be confident they’re being served by a firm that shares the same values and commitment to client service that I do.”
Birtch’s client roster of privately held businesses will served out of the firm’s offices in North Bay and New Liskeard.
Effective October 1, ProVerus has joined Doane Grant Thornton, forming new office locations in Red Deer and Innisfail, Alberta.
Founded in 2009, ProVerus has seven employees listed on LinkedIn and provides accounting, tax, and business advisory services to owner-managed business.
Partners Mike Goldade and Scott Cannam, principal David Aldous, and the entire ProVerus team will join Doane Grant Thornton.
“Our clients will continue to work with the professionals they know and trust, now backed by the strength of a national firm," Cannam said.
Doane Grant Thornton on September 1 acquired four boutique CPA firms: Gibb Widdis CPAs; Capstone; Childs Chanton; and Paul Babin.
