MNP acquires Edmonton accountancy Halpert Monsma CPAs
MNP, a national accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Edmonton-based Halpert Monsma Chartered Professional Accountants, effective June 17.
Founded in 1989, Halpert Monsma provides audit, tax planning, financial planning, and estate planning to businesses, non-profits, and individuals. The firm has six employees, according to its website.
MNP’s acquisition of Halpert Monsma will expand its Edmonton presence. The newly acquired firm will remain at its current location.
“MNP has a long history in Edmonton, working with businesses in the area for nearly 30 years,” said Dustin Sundby, MNP’s regional managing partner for Edmonton. “The city has created several of Canada’s most successful organizations and we are proud of the role we play working with many of them. Loretta and the Halpert Monsma team share our passion for supporting the Edmonton’s business community and will help us to reach and support more organizations with their journey. We are excited to welcome them into the MNP family.”
Loretta Monsma, co-founder of Halpert Monsma, added “MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings and brings greater bench strength that will help my team and I service clients across Edmonton. By joining MNP we will add more resources and specialized services, which will help to provide our clients with even greater value in the future.”
MNP has more than 8,200 people in 125+ offices coast-to-coast providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to clients across industries.
The Calgary-headquartered firm last year acquired SVS Group, an Edmonton-based accounting and consulting firm.
