Jennifer Liu rejoins Capco as capital markets lead for Canada
Jennifer Liu has rejoined Capco, a financial services-focused management and technology consultancy, as a partner and capital markets lead for Canada.
Based in Toronto, Liu has over 20 years of industry and consulting experience in financial services, with expertise across risk management, regulatory compliance, business and product development, new market entries, and operational efficiency.
She spent the past four years running her independent consulting firm, Kennebrook, where she advised banking and capital markets clients on business and technology transformation. Before that, Liu spent two years at EY as an associate partner and head of the Canadian capital markets advisory practice and a year at KPMG as a director and leader of Canadian capital markets consulting.
She was previously managing principal for Capco’s Canadian capital markets practice between 2011 and 2016.
Earlier in her career, Liu was a VP working on internal consulting projects at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and a senior associate at Capital One.
She has a master’s degree in statistics and sociology from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a bachelor’s degree from Nankai University in China.
“Emerging technologies, a heightened focus on risk, and the need for robust regulatory compliance are reshaping the capital markets landscape,” said Suzanne Muir, managing partner of Capco Canada. “Jennifer’s industry knowledge and expertise, professional network, and leadership experience will all be invaluable as we help our clients embrace new opportunities by delivering the innovative and impactful solutions that will allow them to grow and prosper.”
Muir added, “Our Capital Markets business is the foundation on which Capco was built, and that practice remains integral to our Canadian growth strategy, alongside our continued focus on innovation across Banking and Payments, Wealth and Asset management, and Insurance.”
Headquartered in London, Capco has more than 7,000 employees across offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The firm advises financial services companies on areas including strategy, change and transformation, risk and compliance, digital engineering, data and analytics, technology advisory, systems integration, and cybersecurity.
Capco, which is owned by IT services giant Wipro, earlier this year hired Behzad Salehoun as leader of its Canadian insurance practice.
