MNP acquires Quebec accountancy Malenfant Dallaire
MNP, a national accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Malenfant Dallaire S.E.N.C.R.L., a Quebec City-based accountancy.
Founded in 1982, Malenfant Dallaire provides a range of assurance, tax, and business advisory services to mid-market companies, non-profits, and government organizations. The firm’s advisory offerings include valuation, forensic accounting, and mergers and acquisitions consulting.
Malenfant Dallaire has nine partners and a staff of approximately 30 people.
The transaction, which is effective January 1, 2023, will further expand MNP’s Quebec City presence.
“We are very excited to welcome Malenfant Dallaire – a firm that shares our values and client-centric approach – into the MNP fold, and are looking forward to helping more businesses in Québec reach their full potential,” said Jeremy Cole, MNP’s EVP for the Greater Toronto Area and Quebec.
The Calgary-based firm entered the Quebec market in 2011 with an office in Montreal. The firm made a significant expansion in the province in February 2021 with the acquisition of various Canadian regional offices from Deloitte – which included 500 employees in Quebec.
MNP entered Quebec City in 2022 with the acquisition of valuation specialist Babin Consultants and followed that up with the purchase of Group Trigone, a Saguenay management consultancy with satellite offices in Quebec City and Montreal.
The firm today has more than 130 partners and 1,000+ team members in Quebec.
“MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings for our business community and brings greater bench strength that we believe will help us provide even greater value to our clients,” said Malenfant Dallaire partner Paul Bolduc, who will join MNP as a regional managing partner.
MNP was founded in 1958 and is the largest mid-market accounting and consulting firm in the country – beating out BDO and Grant Thornton. The firm has more than 7,000 people across 125+ locations in Canada.
