MNP, the largest mid-market accounting and consulting firm in Canada, has acquired Jean-Luc Quenneville CPA inc., a boutique accountancy based in Laval, QC.

Founded by Jean-Luc Quenneville in 1998, the firm provides accounting, tax, and advisory services to private enterprises in Laval and the Greater Montreal region. The company has a team of six accounting professionals.

Quenneville has more than 30 years of experience in the accounting industry, with a specialization in tax preparation. Prior to founding his company, he spent more than six years at Deloitte, where he was a senior director in the tax business. Quenneville has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UQAM and CPA and CA certifications.

Quenneville and his team will join MNP, with Quenneville joining the firm as a partner. They will remain at their current office until August, when they will move to MNP’s new Laval location, which is set to open this summer. Approximately 40 team members from MNP’s Saint-Laurent office will also be moving to the new location.

“Laval is home to an impressive and diverse range of entrepreneurial businesses and organizations that are at the core of our client focus,” said Jean-Philippe Langevin, recently named regional managing partner for MNP’s Greater Montreal region.  “With our new office opening this summer on boulevard Saint-Martin, the arrival of the Jean-Luc Quenneville team will further improve our ability to support the Laval business community.

Quenneville added, “MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings and brings greater bench strength to service our clients across Laval and the surrounding region.”

The acquisition continues the Calgary-headquartered firm’s expansion in the province in the last 15 months. MNP in February 2021 added 500 Deloitte team members in Quebec in a deal that added more than 20 offices across the country. The firm in December bought Babin Consultants, a valuation consultancy focusing on healthcare practices, as well as accountancies Eric Duguay CPA and Duke CPA Inc.

MNP entered the Quebec market in 2011 and today has more than 124 partners and 1,000 team members across 25 offices in the province. The firm has more than 7,000 people across 125+ locations in Canada.
