Randy Comish and Brock Tupper join Avison Young to lead flex work in Canada
Randy Comish and Brock Tupper have joined the Toronto headquarters of Avison Young (AY), a commercial real estate services firm, to lead the company's flexible solutions practice in Canada.
The pair of new VPs, who join AY from flexible workspace giant IWG, will partner with tenant rep, leasing, and investment teams to provide consulting and transactional services to flex office operators, enterprise occupiers, and institutional owners.
Comish and Tupper will focus on occupiers in the Canadian market as part of AY’s global flexible solutions center of excellence. The firm’s occupier flex offerings include defining and executing strategy, analyzing portfolios to leverage flex, assisting in locating and securing flex solutions, and advising on individual transactions.
“There is tremendous value in having Canadian-based leaders on the flexible solutions team,” said Mark Fieder, principal and president of Avison Young Canada. “Together, Randy and Brock will bring unmatched knowledge and relationships to our internal stakeholders as well as to our clients – and I very much look forward to their expansion of the business in our Canadian marketplace, building upon the successes of the teams in the US and in the UK, with whom they will work very closely.”
Comish spent the last 15 years at IWG serving in various sales and management roles, including as a VP leading sales and operations for the company’s 134 Canadian locations encompassing 3 million square feet. He previously held sales leadership roles at Labatt.
Tupper spent the last nine years at IWG, most recently serving as a core member of the global sales team as global director, enterprise. He was also previously director of workplace strategy. Prior to joining IWG, Tupper was a broker at Davies Condos and held sales and marketing leadership roles at Labatt.
“I’m excited to leverage my past industry experiences to a broader audience via Avison Young’s unique service offering,” Comish said. “Our access to technology is unparalleled and will be a true differentiator.”
Tupper added, “Joining Avison Young was an easy decision for me because the firm shares my focus on identifying why and how occupiers need to leverage flex as a critical component of their portfolio strategy. Putting client needs first will always remain a key shared priority.”
