MNP, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Gaspé, QC-based Eric Duguay CPA and Cowansville, QC-based Duke CPA Inc.

Founded more than 20 years ago, Eric Duguay CPA delivers a range of accounting, tax, and advisory services to private enterprises in Gaspésie region.

As part of the firm’s acquisition, which is effective January 1, 2022, Eric Duguay will join MNP as a partner. Duguay and his team will remain in their Gaspé city location, forming MNP’s first office in the Gaspésie region. They will join a network of surrounding MNP offices in Rimouski, Trois-Pistoles, Matane, Sept-Îles, and New Richmond.

“MNP shares my vision of supporting our clients by expanding our services and our presence in this community,” said Duguay. “I’m very excited to be taking that next step together.”

Duke CPA was founded in 1959 and provides professional services to organizations in the Brome-Missisquoi region. The firm is led by partners Anita Fowsar, Bill Duke, and Geoffrey Webber, and has a team of 12 staff members.

“MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings for our business community and brings greater bench strength that we believe will help us provide even greater value to our clients across the Brome-Missisquoi region,” Fowsar said.

The two deals continue the Calgary-headquartered firm’s significant expansion in the province this year. MNP in February added 500 Deloitte team members in Quebec in a deal that added more than 20 offices across the country. The firm earlier this month acquired Babin Consultants, a valuation consultancy focusing on healthcare practices.

MNP entered the Quebec market in 2011 and today has more than 113 partners and 900 team members across 21 offices in the province. The firm has more than 7,000 people across 125+ locations in Canada.
