CGI buys French management consultancy Harwell Management
CGI, a Montreal-headquartered technology consulting firm, has agreed to acquire Harwell Management, a Paris-based management consultancy focusing on the financial services industry.
Founded in 2009, Harwell advises on executing purpose-driven strategy, maintaining regulatory compliance, building competitive advantage, and accelerating sustainable value. The firm’s approximately 150 employees support clients in retail and specialized banking, corporate and investment banking, capital markets, and insurance, primarily within the French market.
CGI’s acquisition of Harwell will significantly expand its business consulting division in France, as well as its ability to support financial services clients.
"Along with the 800 French CGI Business Consulting members, I look forward to welcoming Harwell Management's 150 consultants,” said Pierre-Dominique Martin, SVP, CGI Business Consulting. “Their in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, proximity to clients, and proven approach are assets for accelerating the growth of CGI's business consulting offering in France and enhancing our capabilities around the globe.”
Upon completion of the deal, Harwell will join CGI’s French subsidiary, CGI France SAS.
“By joining CGI, our teams and clients will benefit from new opportunities to enhance their business and careers. We are delighted to join CGI Business Consulting, with whom we share a common set of values and unique complementary capabilities," said Harwell Management founders Christophe Da Cunha and Franck Benzoni.
CGI’s global business consulting practice provides services in business strategy, human-centered transformation, customer value and operational excellence, and digital leadership and CIO agenda.
The overall firm has more than 84,000 consultants globally and provides services in strategic IT, systems integration, business process services, and managed IT. CGI booked annual revenue of $12.13 billion in 2021.
The consultancy last year announced plans to double in size over the next five to seven years. CGI also refreshed its brand identity in 2021 to coincide with its 45th anniversary.
