Accenture has acquired Gevity, a Victoria-based provider of management and technology consulting services to the healthcare sector.

Founded in 1995, Gevity provides consulting services in health systems integration, informatics and analytics, solution implementation, and program management. The firm also leads clients through digital transformation and information systems design implementations.

Gevity works with clients across the breadth of the healthcare sector, including providers, public and private payers, regulators, and healthcare nonprofit organizations. Its team of multidisciplinary experts includes practitioners with experience in clinical, technical, and admin roles in healthcare.

The firm has nearly 100 professionals across BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Gevity also has international employees in the US and the Philippines.Accenture buys healthcare consultancy Gevity"The addition of Gevity will expand our capabilities in delivering health transformation services in Canada and other global markets," said Jeffrey Russell, president of Accenture Canada. "Gevity's talented team and track record of success combined with Accenture's national leadership in transformation services and strong ecosystem partnerships will strengthen our capabilities from coast to coast.”

As in numerous other industries, the pandemic has put pressure on health organizations to modernize their technology systems and revamp operations to reduce costs. The Gevity team will give Accenture – one of the largest management and technology consulting firms in the world – additional resources in Canada and the US to support healthcare sector transformations.

"By joining Accenture's global Health practice, with its leading capabilities in digital, design, cloud, security and customer experience, we can together have a greater impact on the transformation of Canada's healthcare industry and open up exciting career opportunities for our team members," said Marc Koehn, CEO of Gevity.

Accenture earlier this summer bought Cloudworks, a Toronto-based provider of Oracle Cloud implementation services. The Dublin-headquartered firm last year acquired Callisto Integration, an Ottawa-headquartered consulting firm focusing on digital manufacturing services, and Avenai, an Ottawa-based management and technology consultancy focusing on the public sector.

Accenture has 569,000 employees globally and annual revenues of US$44.3 billion.
