IT consultancy Sourced Group unveils new cloud security assessment offering
Sourced Group, a Toronto-headquartered cloud consulting specialist, has launched a new offering in cloud security assessment.
With more firms turning to cloud applications and remote work amid the global pandemic, the need for heightened cybersecurity efforts has likewise increased. A recent KPMG survey found that companies have spent an additional $15 billion per week on technology during the pandemic. IT leaders identified security & privacy and infrastructure & cloud as two of the top three tech investments during the pandemic.
"According to CSO, the average cost of a data breach now exceeds US$2 million, while regulatory fines for organizations not diligently protecting their clients' personally identifiable information (PII) can exceed US$100 million," said Yuri Litvinov, head of consulting at Sourced Group. "In this environment, leveraging the latest technologies to drive innovation in the security domain is a must, otherwise businesses become exposed, now more than ever before."
Sourced’s new offering will help clients assess their cybersecurity maturity and develop a roadmap to reach their cyber risk management goals.
According to Litvinov, the firm’s offering is a more holistic, consultative approach that avoids the pitfalls of a standard security audits – which often provide only a point-in-time view that fails to deliver long-term security gains.
“Working closely with clients to diagnose, educate, and change the way businesses view security in the cloud enables us to establish a roadmap to improving cloud security maturity long-term," he added.
Sourced will draw on established security industry frameworks and best practices from its experience building cloud environments in regulated industries.
Sourced was founded in 2010 and specializes in enterprise cloud transformations. The company’s services and solutions cover cloud migration, DevOps enablement, and security and compliance. The firm is an AWS Premier Partner, Google Cloud Premier Partner, and Microsoft Azure Gold Managed Partner.
The consultancy has more than 100 employees across offices in Toronto, Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur.
Sourced recently secured $2.5 million from venture capital firm Round 13 Capital, which it used to spin off Kivera – a tool and company that helps clients apply governance policies consistently across their multi-cloud environments and boost their security posture.
