Feng Liu joins BDO Lixar as head of cloud engineering

Feng Liu has joined BDO Lixar, the technology practice of BDO Canada, as head of cloud engineering.

Based in Oakville, ON, Liu will be tasked with building a practice that delivers cloud initiatives across client organizations. He will be responsible for establishing team culture, talent development and acquisition, standards and processes, and global delivery teams.

Liu brings more than 30 years of experience with a focus on executing IT strategy, building development teams, and guiding organization technology direction. He has expertise in all areas of software development, including project management, architecture, integration, DevOps, security, and cloud computing.

Liu joins BDO from Finastra, a financial services software and solutions company, where he spent over eight years. He most recently served as senior director for cloud delivery management and head of architecture across various banking sectors.

Before that, Liu spent 13 years at Navantis (now Datavail), an IT consultancy and Microsoft partner serving large and mid-sized firms and government organizations.

He began his career at the Beijing Municipal Transportation Administration Bureau, where he spent nine years and was latterly an IT manager.

Liu has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, China.

BDO Lixar was formed from the 2020 acquisition of Lixar, an Ottawa-based AI and data consultancy with 200+ employees. The practice today delivers services across AI and data, business applications, cybersecurity, modern workplace, and digital strategy.
