Boyden Canada adds two partners to healthcare practice
Talent and leadership advisory firm Boyden has added James Stonehouse and Pamela Colquhoun as partners in its Toronto office. The new partners bring nearly a combined 40 years of experience in health sector executive search.
The two veteran consultants have conducted a combined 65% of their search assignments at the CEO level, with clients that have included Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Alberta Health Services, St. Joseph’s Health System, and Ontario Long Term Care Association.
"The addition of Jim and Pam will bring Boyden tremendous inroads across the healthcare provider sector," said Michael Naufal, managing partner at Boyden Canada. “Their robust industry leadership will be a great benefit to our clients and a complement to our partners across the Americas and the globe."
Stonehouse brings 20 years of experience, specializing in recruitment for healthcare providers, health policy and consulting groups, and life science and medical devices firms across Canada. Previously, he was a partner and leader of the healthcare & public enterprise practice at executive search firm Four Corners Group. Before that, Stonehouse was a healthcare consultant at Big Four firms PwC and KPMG.
Before entering consulting, Stonehouse was CEO of the London Teaching Hospitals’ Council at the University of Western Ontario, and vice president at the University Health Network in Toronto. He holds a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Toronto, as well as bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto.
Colquhoun brings nearly 20 years of experience, specializing in healthcare executive, physician, and non-physician leadership recruitment. She has led hundreds of searches for hospitals, academic centres, regional authorities, and associations across the country, with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion.
Prior to joining Boyden, Colquhoun was global diversity practice leader at Intersearch, and before that, a partner in the healthcare executive search practice at Four Corners Group. Earlier in her career, Colquhoun was a director of physician search at Odgers Berndtson, and lead for physician recruitment and retention at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario.
She holds a master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s degree from Laurentian University.
"Boyden’s global reach and dynamic environment were key factors in our decision to join the firm,” Stonehouse and Colquhoun said in a joint statement. "We look forward to partnering with the firm’s dynamic partners to expand Boyden’s sector expertise in healthcare executive search and leverage Boyden’s tailored client-centric offerings."
The advisory firm opened its sixth Canadian location earlier this year, launching a new office in Saskatoon.
