Tata Consultancy services has extended its hybrid cloud platform to Canada. The solution enables businesses to harness greater agility, improved customer visibility and control, and enhanced security.

Mumbai-based Tata Consultancy Services is one of the world’s largest IT consulting firms, with over 411,000 employees across 46 countries, and annual revenues exceeding US$19 billion. One of Canada’s top ten IT services providers by size, TCS employs 4,500 people across offices in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.

The consulting firm has now launched its Enterprise Cloud Platform (ECP) in Canada. The private, hybrid (on-premises + cloud) platform provides the agility and scalability of a public cloud solution, while addressing concerns over security and control.

"We are extending our state-of-the-art cloud offerings to customers in Canada and reinforcing the pivotal role we play in their ongoing digital transformation journeys," said Satishchandra Doreswamy, Global Head, Cloud Infrastructure, TCS. "Our end-to-end cloud services and solutions portfolio, assessment tools, and a robust framework for cloud foundation and migration, make TCS a trusted partner of choice."

The solution provides a flexible cloud infrastructure powered by OpenStack software with automation-enabled SDx capabilities. ECP’s open architecture-based spine eliminates vendor lock-in, allowing firms to manage multiple public cloud vendors. The platform has further data services built on open source stacks, supporting big data, analytics, and IoT.

Other benefits include a lower total cost of ownership, boosted speed to market of new applications, ease of transformation for legacy environments, and compliance assurance that customer data remains in Canada.

"Canadian enterprises are looking for greater agility and flexibility to compete in a Business 4.0™ world,” commented Soumen Roy, Country Head, TCS Canada. “To cater to their needs, TCS has been steadily investing in building an agile-ready workforce and cloud-based solutions and capabilities, here in Canada.”

“Adoption of the TCS Enterprise Cloud Platform will enable rapid delivery of customer service solutions, ensure superior business continuity and agility, enhance user experience, and reduce total cost of ownership," he added.

In other TCS news, the IT consulting firm recently acquired Gainesville, Georgia–based financial services consultancy BridgePoint Group. The move added significant niche expertise in the complex US retirement business.
