Magesh Pillay joins BDO as consulting partner in Calgary

Magesh Pillay has joined BDO as a partner in the firm’s strategy, value creation, and analytics practice in Calgary.

Pillay brings two decades of experience in consulting, with expertise in growth strategy, capital allocation, performance improvement, cost reduction, and post-acquisition integration. He has particular depth of experience supporting clients in energy, utilities, and mining, and has worked on client engagements across Canada, the US, the UK, and South Africa.

Pillay joins BDO from IBM, where he spent the last seven years and was an associate partner in the enterprise strategy practice. Before that, Pillay was a senior manager at Monitor Deloitte and a senior consultant at iOCO.

He has an MBA from the University of Pretoria, a bachelor’s degree in management from Nelson Mandela University, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of British Columbia.
