Arcadis appoints three leaders in Vancouver

Arcadis, a Netherlands-headquartered design and engineering consulting firm, has appointed three leaders within its architecture, transportation engineering, and environmental management practices in Vancouver.

Maren McBride joins as a principal and landscape architect. She brings 17+ years of experience as a landscape architect, urban designer, and planner, with expertise across mixed-use development, transit-oriented communities, parks and open space systems, and city-building projects.

McBride will play a key role in growing Arcadis’ integrated landscape architecture and urbanism practice across Western Canada.

She was previously an associate at Dialog and PWL Partnership Landscape Architects.

Antoine Henry joins Arcadis’ Vancouver office as a senior project manager, bringing 18 years of experience as a civil engineer. He has expertise in project management, design leadership, project controls, and construction oversight for roads, bridges, tunnels, and intermodal connections.

Henry previously spent seven years in Arcadis’ Paris office, where he was a senior design manager. Before that, he was a senior site engineer at Bouygues Construction and a site engineer at Eiffage.

Sahar Safaie joins Arcadis as disaster and climate risk management specialist. She brings nearly two decades of experience in climate and disaster risk assessment, disaster risk reduction, and climate adaptation.

Safaie most recently spent eight years running her independent firm Sage On Earth Consulting, where she led local, provincial, and international projects. Before that, Safaie was a risk assessment officer at the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and a disaster risk management specialist at The World Bank.

Earlier in her career, she was an earthquake engineer at Klohn Crippen Berger and a junior structural engineer at Pomeroy Engineering Consultants.

Arcadis was founded in 1888 and has more than 34,000 global employees. The firm has practices in architecture and urbanism, asset management, business advisory, contract solutions, cost and commercial management, design and engineering, digital environmental health safety and sustainability, environmental restoration, and program management.

Arcadis has 20 offices across Canada.
