BDO appoints Kerri Plexman chief operating officer

BDO Canada has appointed Kerri Plexman as chief operating officer, effective January 2, 2026.

Plexman will take on the COO role in addition to her current role as managing partner for talent and culture.

The Toronto-based assurance partner succeeds Dave Simkins, who has served as COO for the last decade.

“Kerri brings strong operational discipline and a hands-on leadership style that aligns well with the importance of this role,” said CEO Bruno Suppa. “Her deep understanding of our firm and collaborative approach positions us well for continued progress toward our long-term growth ambitions.”

Plexman has been with BDO for the last 20 years. Before serving as managing partner for talent and culture, she was office managing partner for the Greater Toronto Area.

During her career at BDO, Plexman has advised on large company audits, business acquisitions, and purchase price allocations, as well as other accounting and assurance issues.

She has a bachelor of commerce degree from Laurentian University and is a chartered professional accountant.
