Ram Rathod joins BDO as partner
Ram Rathod has joined BDO’s Toronto office as a partner in the transaction tax practice supporting the private equity group.
Rathod brings over 16 years of experience advising private equity firms and their portfolio companies. He has expertise in domestic and cross-border tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration.
Rathod has led tax strategies on numerous multi-billion-dollar deals, with industry expertise in travel & hospitality and mining & minerals.
He was previously SVP for finance and tax at Blue Diamond Resorts and Sunwing. Before that, he was a senior manager for tax at Iamgold and a senior analyst for taxation at First Quantum Minerals. Rathod began his career at Grant Thornton.

Rathod has a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a chartered professional accountant and chartered accountant.
BDO recently welcomed Christiane Eid as a partner in its US corporate tax group in Montreal.
