MNP has acquired two accounting firms in Sainte-Julie, QC – Pierre Thibault CPA and Guy Provost CPA – as well as EPR Bathurst / Péninsule, a Bathurst, NB-based accounting firm.

The acquisition of the Sainte-Julie firms takes effect on November 1, 2024, while the EPR Bathurst / Péninsule deal takes effect on December 1, 2024.

The Pierre Thibault CPA and Guy Provost CPA acquisitions will further expand MNP’s presence in the Montreal area. Both firms provide accounting and business advisory services to private enterprises in the Sainte-Julie business community and surrounding region.

Pierre Thibault CPA is led by founder and partner Pierre Thibault, supported by a team of six professionals, while Guy Provost CPA is led by founder and partner Guy Provost, supported by a team of seven professionals.

The Guy Provost CPA team will join the Pierre Thibault CPA office, which will form MNP’s first location in Sainte-Julie. Guy Provost and Pierre Thibault will join MNP as partners.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Pierre Thibault CPA inc., and Guy Provost CPA inc. teams to our Firm. Well established in Montreal, we’ve been wanting to grow our presence on the South Shore, including Sainte-Julie, an objective we’ve reached this year,” said Jean-Philippe Langevin, regional managing partner for the Greater Montreal region. “With this new office, including two partners and 13 professionals joining our Greater Montreal team, our 500+ people in the region will be even better placed to provide support to our clients and the Greater Montreal marketplace.”

Since expanding into Quebec in 2011, MNP’s team in the province has grown to more than 1,400 people and 32 offices.

The Sainte-Julie firms represent the fourth and fifth acquisitions in the Montreal area for MNP in the last 12 months. Most recently, MNP acquired MTA CPA Inc., an accountancy based in the South Shore of Montreal.

EPR Bathurst has a team of 28 professionals across offices in Bathurst, Caraquet, and Shippagan, New Brunswick. The firm provides a range of accounting, tax and advisory services to private enterprises throughout Bathurst and the Acadian Peninsula.

The consultancy’s leadership team – Gilles Deveaux, Mylène Haché St-Pierre, and Denis St-Pierre – will join MNP as partners.

The EPR Bathurst team will remain at its current office locations, which will form the first MNP locations in each of the three cities.

“We are thrilled to establish our presence in the Bathurst and Acadian Peninsula region and to support the businesses and organizations that thrive in their extended community. We are very excited to welcome EPR Bathurst / Péninsule – a firm that shares our values and client-centric approach – into the MNP fold,” said Jean-François Leblanc, regional managing partner for the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Bas St-Laurent and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions.
