BDO Canada, a mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has hired Caroline Dixon as a partner and leader of the forensic disputes & investigations practice in British Columbia.

Based in Revelstoke, BC, Dixon will support clients throughout the Interior and Southern BC market.

She brings more than 19 years of forensic accounting experience, having conducted fraud investigations and provided litigation support to clients in financial services, healthcare, government, and non-profit. Dixon has served as an expert witness in forensic accounting in various courts in BC, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

She has also provided fraud prevention training to senior executives and law enforcements officials.

Dixon joins BDO from Grant Thornton, where she spent the last 13 years and was a partner in forensic services. Before that, she spent 11 years at PwC, where she was latterly a manager in forensic services.

Dixon has a bachelor of arts and bachelor of commerce from Memorial University and a diploma in investigative & forensic accounting from the University of Toronto. She holds chartered professional accountant, certified in financial forensics, and anti-money laundering specialist designations.

“Caroline's passion for investigating and uncovering financial frauds is key for helping clients recover losses and protect themselves and their organizations from fraud. Her demonstrated expertise will make her a valuable addition to the team," said Alan Mak, partner and national leader, forensic disputes & investigations.

BDO earlier this summer added Heidi Scorgie as a partner in its assurance practice in Vancouver.
