Strategic Natural Resource Consultants names Domenico Iannidinardo as CEO
Strategic Natural Resource Consultants (SNRC), a Campbell River, BC-headquartered, Indigenous-owned natural resources consulting firm, has appointed Domenico Iannidinardo as chief executive officer.
Iannidinardo, who has over 20 years of forestry sector experience, succeeds co-founder and outgoing CEO Neils Jorgensen, who will remain with SNRC to support the leadership transition and drive specific projects in wildfire and incident management.
“As a founder, I am really excited about Domenico coming on board,” Jorgensen said. “This is a time of huge change in our industry and I am eager to work with Domenico as part of this transition. The Ehattesaht have been incredibly positive for our company and our people, and we continue to build a stronger team."
SNRC was founded in 2003 as a small forestry enterprise. The Ehattesaht/Chinehkint First Nation, a longtime client of the firm, bought a majority stake in 2022.
SNRC is now the largest Indigenous-owned natural resource consulting firm in British Columbia, with over 150 professionals across offices in Campbell River, Nanaimo, Port McNeill, Prince George, and Fort St. John.
The company has expertise in tenure and incident management, wildfire fighting, Indigenous and government relations, traditional ecological knowledge integration, and cultural policy implementation, and works in the areas of forestry, mining, tourism, real estate, power, and marine.
"Natural resource management and emergency response services for Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses and communities are getting even more important with each passing season," said Simon John, Ehattesaht Chinehkint First Nation Chief and chair of SNRC’s board of directors. "Domenico's breadth of operational and governance experience along with his well-respected professional reputation is the type of leadership our team and our clients need to meet the challenges that come with change."
Iannidinardo is a resource and land management professional with over two decades of industry leadership experience. He joins SNRC from Mosaic Forest Management, one of BC’s largest forest companies and landowners, where he spent five years and was SVP, chief forester, and chief development officer.
Before that, Iannidinardo spent nearly 14 years at TimberWest Forest Corp., where he was chief forester and VP for sustainability. He began his career at Western Forest Products Inc., where he was an engineer.
"SNRC has built a strong brand over the last two decades and I'm honoured to lead this innovative, Indigenous-owned enterprise," said Iannidinardo. "We have a dedicated group of professionals that continue to exceed client expectations by delivering creative solutions on an increasingly complex land base."
