RSM Canada hires Vasie Hager as tax partner
RSM Canada, a mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has hired Vasie Hager as a tax partner based in Toronto.
Hager brings more than 15 years of experience specializing in tax consulting for financial services clients.
In his new role at RSM, Hager will lead the financial services tax practice across Canada – building out a team of professionals and creating a go-to-market approach for prospective clients.
Hager spent the last 17 years at PwC member firms, including the last five years at PwC Canada, where he was a senior manager. During his time at PwC Canada, he was a member of the financial services management team for banking and capital markets, insurance, and asset and wealth management. He also led consultation, compliance, due diligence reviews, and tax audits on several priority accounts.
Before that, Hager was associate director for financial services at PwC South Africa, providing tax services across consulting projects, audit of taxation, due diligence, and dispute resolution with revenue authorities.
He has a master’s degree in taxation and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from North-Western University, South Africa.
