BDO Canada appoints Bruno Suppa as CEO

Accounting and consulting firm BDO Canada has named Bruno Suppa as chief executive officer, effective July 1, 2022.

Suppa – who has been at BDO for more than 16 years – succeeds Pat Kramer, who was recently named CEO of BDO Global. Kramer led the Canadian member firm since 2015.

As CEO, Suppa will focus on continuing BDO Canada’s growth, including the expansion of service offerings to meet evolving client needs, a press release from the Toronto-based firm stated.

“As I step into this role, I am excited about the possibilities that lay ahead for the firm and through our client collaborations while maintaining an unwavering commitment to progress in support of setting new benchmarks for excellence in delivering industry leading solutions to our clients,” Suppa said.

Suppa since 2021 served as managing partner for markets and offices, leading approximately 3,000 people across sectors and services offerings in 100+ locations. He also previously held several other leadership roles at the firm, including head of the transaction advisory services group and private equity group, and head of the Greater Toronto Area practice. Suppa has also represented Canada on BDO Global’s M&A and private equity steering committees.

Aside from his tenure at BDO, Suppa was a manager in Deloitte’s financial advisory services practice. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western University and a chartered accountant certification.
