Pat Kramer succeeds Keith Farlinger as global CEO of BDO
Pat Kramer, the current chief executive officer of BDO Canada, will succeed Keith Farlinger as CEO of BDO Global on November 1, 2022.
Kramer, who has been on the BDO Global board since 2015 when he was named head of the Canadian member firm, will take on the global network’s CEO role from Farlinger, who has held the role for five years.
Farlinger was also Kramer’s predecessor as BDO Canada CEO, holding the position from 2008 to 2015.
During his tenure, Farlinger focused on unifying the global network of 97,000+ employees across 167 countries under the message “It’s Time for BDO to Lead,” fostered collaboration between member firms, and set a global commitment to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
"We thank Keith for his exemplary service these past five years,” Wayne Berson, CEO of BDO USA and BDO’s global chairman, said.Kramer has more than 30 years of accounting and consulting experience, with over 25 years spent at BDO. Before being named BDO Canada’s CEO, he was managing partner of the firm’s Calgary office for over nine years, overseeing a period of growth that include an expansion of advisory services and a merger that doubled the office’s size.
Before that, Kramer was an assurance and accounting partner based in BDO’s Hamilton office, where he worked with industries including higher education, insurance, and transportation. He also served as the office’s HR partner.
“Pat has won great respect throughout the global organization and was the unanimous choice of the BDO Global Board,” Berson said. “I look forward to working with Pat in his new role to further strengthen and grow BDO’s contribution to the global middle market.”
