KPMG Canada appoints Geoff Rush as financial services leader
KPMG Canada has promoted Geoff Rush to national industry leader for financial services.
Rush, who most recently served as a Toronto-based partner in the firm’s management consulting business and as global lead partner for TD Bank Group, succeeds John Armstrong, who led the financial services industry practice for the last five years. Armstrong will retire in September.
Rush has more than 25 years of experience in management consulting and the banking industry, having previously held leadership roles in secured and unsecured lending, banking operations, and finance. He specializes in advising financial services clients on strategy development and business performance improvement, and has led major transformation projects for banks and insurance firms in Canada, the UK, and Asia-Pacific.
Rush joined KPMG Australia in 2008 as a director, was named a partner in 2011, and transferred to KPMG Canada in 2019.Prior to joining the Big Four accounting and consulting firm, Rush was a program manager at National Australia Bank and head of business re-engineering at Citigroup Australia. He began his career as an associate at consulting firm Kearney.
Rush has an MBA and a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Melbourne, as well as a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Western University.
