Deloitte buys SAP specialist Clockwork Inc.

Deloitte Canada has acquired Clockwork Inc., a Toronto-based provider of consulting services for the SAP enterprise resource planning platform.

Founded in 1998, Clockwork helps clients in a range of industries implement and run SAP-based solutions. The consulting firm offers services in planning and strategy, program management, development and deployment, and managed services.

Aside from SAP, Clockwork also partners with cloud providers including AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Salesforce. The consultancy has 45 employees across offices in Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary.

Deloitte’s acquisition of Clockwork will enhance the Big Four firm’s capabilities in cloud migration, application development, and SaaS solution deployment. Clockwork’s employees will join Deloitte’s SAP enterprise solutions offering within its consulting practice. Mike Roach, president and co-founder of Clockwork, will join Deloitte as a partner.“Apart from expanding our presence as a leading Canadian SAP consultancy, Clockwork's recognized brand and experienced leaders are an especially important aspect of this move, one that is sure to strengthen our SAP technical skills, assets, and market leadership in the space," said Anthony Viel, CEO of Deloitte Canada.

Deloitte Canada sold a sizeable portion of its regional accounting offices to MNP earlier this year. The firm said that it would funnel future investment into its technology consulting capabilities – a high-growth area.

Deloitte’s other 2021 acquisitions are TWG, a Toronto-based firm specializing in application development and data engineering, and Groundswell Group, a Calgary-based artificial intelligence and data integration firm.
