BDO Canada acquires data management firm SimplicityBI
BDO Canada has acquired SimplicityBI, a Calgary-based data management company. BDO will roll the firm into its Lixar data and technology division.
Founded in 2013, SimplicityBI helps clients meet their end-to-end data needs, from strategy development to implementation and managed services. The firm helps organizations increase productivity through automated processes, analytics, and self-service interfaces that help teams make better, data-driven decisions.
SimplicityBI’s solutions cover unified data platforms, cloud data integration, master data management, data lake DW, data visualization, and data analytics. The company has particular expertise working with Denodo-enabled solutions. SimplicityBI is also a Microsoft Gold Partner and a Snowflake Premier Partner.
The Calgary-based firm works with organizations across oil and gas, energy and utilities, financial services, healthcare, and real estate. SimplicityBI has more than 20 team members, according to LinkedIn.
BDO’s acquisition of SimplicityBI will bolster its data and technology business, Lixar Fueled by BDO. Lixar, an Ottawa based provider of data, development, IoT, and cloud consulting services, was acquired by BDO in March 2020. The transaction added more than 200 data and analytics professionals in Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, and Halifax.
