CGI wins 5-year contract with data giant NetApp
Tech consultancy CGI has won a five-year contract with NetApp, one of the world’s largest data services providers, centred on enterprise clients in the Americas.
Founded in 1995, Sunnyvale, CA-based NetApp delivers cloud and on-premises data services. The firm currently focuses on hybrid cloud services, which combine on-premises private cloud and third-party public cloud services. NetApp partners with leading cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and IBM.
NetApp today has more than 10,000 employees across 110+ global offices, with US$6.1 billion in annual revenues. The data company has worked with many leading companies, including Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, and DreamWorks.
As companies try to harness the power of their data to make more informed decisions, NetApp has been promoting the use of data fabrics. A data fabric simplifies the integration and orchestration of data services across clouds and on-premises to drive digital transformation.
In the new contract, CGI will provide managed professional services in data fabrics, providing digital services through a centre of excellence specializing in NetApp. CGI will also utilize its local market expertise and North America delivery centres to serve clients in healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and government.
"CGI's scale, industry expertise and unmatched service delivery are attributes NetApp seeks from a partner at a time when our clients are accumulating an unprecedented amount of data," said Sheila Rohra, SVP of worldwide services and support, NetApp.
Dave Henderson, CGI president of US commercial and state government operations, said, “We are proud to work with NetApp at a time when many will be contemplating new business models and practices to enable new ways of interaction. CGI is ready with services and insights for responding to unprecedented challenges, rebounding effectively, and reinventing ways of working.”
Headquarterd in Montreal, CGI delivers a wide range of technology and business consulting services to clients across the globe. The firm has 78,000 employees and annual revenues of $12.1 billion.
