CGI acquires French retailer-focused tech consultancy Meti
Montreal-based technology consultancy CGI has acquired Meti Logiciels et Services, a French consultancy specializing in IT solutions for the retail sector.
Founded in 1982, Meti offers an enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform tailored to retailers, covering the entire value chain – from sales, operations, and accounting to data management and supply chain. Meti also helps clients integrate the software, while also providing support services, hosting, and training.
The company has worked with many large retailers, including Carrefoure, Leader Price, and Metro. Meti has more than 300 employees across four offices in France, as well as offices in Romania and Russia.
The acquisition bolsters CGI’s capabilities in the retail sector, better enabling the firm to support clients during digital and omni-channel transformations.
"Meti's capabilities, solutions, and employees enable us to significantly strengthen our IP portfolio and services for the retail sector, and we warmly welcome its approximately 300 professionals to the CGI community," said George D. Schindler, president and CEO of CGI.
Jean-Michel Baticle, president of CGI's operations in Western and Southern Europe, added, “The specialized expertise of Meti professionals ideally complements CGI's proven capabilities in digitization and innovation for the retail sector. We are excited to combine Meti's solutions and CGI's Retail Xp360 solution to accelerate value for our retail clients.”
CGI Retail Xp360 is a cloud-based platform that allows retail and consumer services organizations to deliver a seamless, real-time, and tailored customer experience. The platform provides a 360-degree view of each customer and access to stock/replenishment info in real-time, enabling retailers to get the right offer to the right customer at the right time, reduce in-shop waiting time, and enhance in-store sales assistance.
CGI was founded in 1971 and has 77,500 consultants across the globe. The Canadian firm booked $12.1 billion in revenues in 2019.
