Grant Thornton acquires GTA-based GrowthPoint Advisory Services
Accounting and consulting firm Grant Thornton LLP has purchased Mississauga, ON–based GrowthPoint Advisory Services. The management consultancy will join Grant Thornton’s National Advisory Services division in Canada.
Founded in 2013 by Sanjay Desai and Todd Blair, GrowthPoint uses sales and marketing advisory expertise to help businesses improve performance and accelerate growth. The company provides support in digital transformation, go-to-market strategy, and customer experience, among other offerings, to clients across a range of industries. The consulting firm is headquartered in Mississauga, ON and has a team of over a dozen consultants.
Now, leading mid-market accounting and advisory firm Grant Thornton has made a move to acquire the boutique management consultancy. Effective December 17 2018, GrowthPoint Partners Sanjay Desai and Todd Blair – along with their team of associates – have joined the Grant Thornton National Advisory Services team."Our clients look to Grant Thornton as business advisors to navigate them through their business opportunities and growth strategies,” said National Advisory Services Leader Geoff Cronin. “The addition of GrowthPoint to our portfolio of advisory capabilities enables us to work with our clients specifically on reaching their market growth potential and execution. We are excited to work with the professionals at GrowthPoint to help our clients realize their ambitions."
The acquired firm’s consulting approach emphasizes understanding the unique needs of clients, as well as collaboration and teamwork. GrowthPoint also directly linked compensation to results to achieve higher client satisfaction and fairness. The consultancy’s technology partners included Saleforce, LinkedIn, and Dun & Bradstreet.
"In joining the Grant Thornton team, we look forward to bringing a portfolio of strategic business-oriented capabilities to clients," says Todd Blair, Partner at GrowthPoint. "We are committed to working with our clients as partners toward their business goals."
The transaction follows a couple of acquisitions in Atlantic Canada earlier this year. Grant Thornton acquired PEI accounting and consulting firm MacPherson Roche Smith in October, and added Cape Breton, NS–based John Nash and his accounting and advisory team earlier this month.
