AtkinsRéalis hires Byron Bright as president of US business

AtkinsRéalis, a Montreal-headquartered design and engineering consultancy, has hired Byron Bright as president of its US business, effective July 1, 2026.

Bright will succeed Steve Moriss, who has led the US business since January 2024. Moriss will remain at the firm as head of the global minerals and metals sector until his retirement at the end of the year.

AtkinsRéalis’s US business posted a record backlog in the first quarter and rose from 20th to 16th place in the ENR 2026 Top 20 Design Firm rankings.

Bright brings more than 25 years of experience in engineering, technical services, program management, and government services. He joins from KBR, where he spent 15 years and was COO and president of the government solutions practice. Before that, he spent five years at Jacobs, where he was director of business development.

Before his consulting career, Bright served for seven years in the US Air Force, where he was a flight test engineer.

He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanics from the United States Air Force Academy.
