MNP, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has acquired five firms across Alberta, Quebec, and Ontario.

MNP on May 8 added Ignite Technology, a Calgary-based IT services firm, to its digital services practice.

Ignite was founded in 2011 and has 34 employees listed on LinkedIn. The firm specializes in AV integration and collaboration systems – including the design and installation of Microsoft Team Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and hybrid meeting spaces.

“Ignite Technology and MNP share a similar culture and mindset, with a common focus on people, collaboration, and creating real outcomes for clients,” said Sean Devin, SVP, business advisory services, MNP. “Their expertise will help us strengthen areas where we already have momentum and enhance the value we provide to clients across the country.”

In Quebec, MNP strengthened its presence with the addition of L’Équipe Tremblay (effective June 1), Martin & Savoie, CPA (effective July 6), and Cyr Landry Lapierre (effective October 1). The firm entered Quebec in 2011 and today has 39 offices, 240 partners, and over 1,500 team members across the province.

Based in Val-d’Or, L’Équipe Tremblay is led by Madeleine Tremblay and provides accounting and business advisory services to private enterprises across the Abitibi region. The team will remain in their current office, which will become MNP’s second Val-D’Or location.

“We are thrilled to welcome L’Équipe Tremblay to our Firm. With the increased client demand we are seeing in Val-d’Or, we have been looking for a firm there to compliment our efforts. This is our second merger in Abitibi in the past two years, following our merger with Dallaire Lapointe in 2024,” said Jean-François Leblanc, regional managing partner for the Bas St-Laurent, Côte-Nord, Gaspésie, Abibiti-Témiscamingue, Bathurst, and Acadian Peninsula regions.

Martin & Savoie, CPA provides accounting, tax, and advisory services to private enterprises throughout the Lanaudière region.

The firm’s two offices in Joliette and Saint-Michel-des-Saints will become new MNP offices, with Karine Savoie, Kim Saint-Jean, René Martin, and Geneviève Payette joining MNP as partners, supported by their team of professionals.

“Having entered the Lanaudière region in 2023 with our first office in Berthierville, followed by our locations in Joliette and Saint-Félix-de-Valois, we are thrilled to welcome the Martin & Savoie, CPA inc. team to our firm and to further reinforce our presence in the region, which has a vibrant and growing business community,” said Alain Caillé, regional managing partner for the Quebec-Centre region.

Cyr Landry Lapierre is based in Cap-aux-Meules in the Magdalen Islands and provides accounting and business advisory services to private enterprise companies including fisheries and fish harvesters and non-profit organizations.

The firm is led by four partners: Jean-Paul Landry, Stéphane Lapierre, Sabrina Gaudet, and Olivier Bénard, and is supported by a team of 14 employees. The team will remain in their current office and form MNP’s first location in the Magdalen Islands.

“We are very pleased to welcome the Cyr Landry Lapierre Inc. team to our own. We have been actively looking for a firm in the Magdalen Islands – a strategic location for us, with a dynamic and rapidly growing economic environment,” Leblanc said.

In Ontario, MNP has acquired Port Hope CPA firm Lynch Rutherford Tozer, effective July 6. The firm provides assurance, tax, and business advisory services to companies in Northumberland County, including professionals, retail, manufacturing, entrepreneurs, agriculture, and not-for-profit sectors.

Lynch Rutherford Tozer will form MNP’s first office in Port Hope and its fourth in the Central Eastern Ontario region.

MNP’s footprint in the region comprises Oshawa, Peterborough, and Lindsay offices and a team of 105 people, including 15 partners.

“We are very happy to welcome the Lynch Rutherford Tozer team to our Firm. Like our existing group in Central Eastern Ontario, they have a deep understanding of the region’s business community and a focus on helping mid-market companies thrive,” said Niko Anastassakis, MNP’s regional managing partner for Central Eastern Ontario.

Headquartered in Calgary, MNP has 9,700 people across 150+ offices in Canada.
