CIMA+ appoints Jeff Hynes as head of Atlantic region

CIMA+, a Montreal-headquartered engineering consulting firm, has appointed Jeff Hynes as head of the Atlantic region and executive director for energy and resources.

Based in Halifax, Hynes will oversee expansion of the firm’s presence in the region across key markets such as energy, mining, buildings, infrastructure, and defence. He will also continue to lead operations for the energy and resources sector.

Hynes is a mechanical engineer with 25+ years of experience. He joined the firm in 2015 as a senior project manager and was previously a project manager with Standard Consulting Inc. and business unit leader of maintenance at Michelin North America. Earlier in his career, Hynes was a senior reliability engineer at the Iron Ore Company of Canada.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Memorial University.

“Jeff has played a major role in strengthening our presence and expanding our activities across the Atlantic region over the past several years. His deep understanding of the market, combined with his ability to bring teams together and deliver results, makes him the ideal person to take on this strategic role,” said Steeve L’Heureux, EVP for energy and resources at CIMA+.

The firm has more than 40 offices across the country, including five in Atlantic Canada: Halifax, St. John’s, Labrador City, Clarenville, and Saint John.
