Sapling Financial Consultants expands to New York

Sapling Financial Consultants, a Toronto-based financial consulting firm, has opened a second office in the US with the launch of a New York location. Billy Snider has also joined the firm to lead New York partnerships. 

The New York office follows the launch of an Atlanta location last year. The firm says that over 75% of its clients are based in the US and the New York expansion reflects its commitment to build deeper relationships in the markets where its clients operate.

Sapling provides financial modeling, due diligence, and data analytics consulting to mid-market private equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as to boutique investment banks and entrepreneurs.

With New York being one of the world’s most active markets for private equity, M&A, and mid-market financial activity, Sapling said the expansion was a natural fit.

“Atlanta showed us what’s possible when we put boots on the ground in a market where our clients operate, and New York is the logical next step,” said Rob Hong, co-founder and CEO of Sapling Financial Consultants.

The firm has hired Billy Snider the drive growth in the new office as head of New York partnerships. Snider is a sales and business development leader with more than 20 years of experience. He was previously head of government and social enterprise at Lyft, director of client solutions – Pacific Northwest at EMC Corporation, and a sales executive at FedEx.

“The demand for high-quality, tailored financial consulting in the mid-market continues to grow, and with Billy leading our business development efforts in New York, we’re well-positioned to serve that demand,” Hong added.

Sapling was founded in 2015 and has approximately 30 team members across three offices in North America.
