PwC and Olameter partner on meter infrastructure installation for utilities
PwC and Olameter, a Montreal-headquartered provider of outsourced utility solutions, have formed a strategic collaboration focusing on end-to-end advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) deployments for Canadian utilities.
Under the collaboration, PwC and Olameter will deliver integrated services for AMI, including program governance, IT integration, cybersecurity, and field deployment.
“Olameter is proud to collaborate with PwC Canada to bring unparalleled expertise and operational excellence to AMI deployments,” said Jan Peeters, CEO of Olameter. “Together, we will help utilities modernize their infrastructure efficiently while supporting local communities and sustainability objectives.”
Olameter was founded in 1998 and has more than 1,000 technical, admin, and field staff across Canada and the US. The firm provides outsourced utility solutions including meter services and locating to approximately 90 clients across five Canadian provinces and 30 US states.
Olameter has installed more than 50 million meters globally and offers advanced scheduling and work execution tools for supporting local workforce development. PwC, meanwhile, has extensive expertise in large-scale program governance, IT integration, and cybersecurity.
“Canadian utilities face a rapidly evolving landscape, shaped by ambitious decarbonization goals and growing demands for reliability and transparency. To meet these challenges, it is essential to deliver services that leverage digital capabilities and AI-driven data models for greater reliability,” said Pierre-Olivier Tremblay from PwC.
