BDO hires Ratan Verma and Herbert Wong as assurance partners

BDO has hired Ratan Verma and Herbert Wong as partners in its assurance practices in Toronto and Vancouver, respectively.

Verma brings 20+ years of experience advising public and private companies on financial reporting and audit requirements, internal controls, and operational success. He has worked with clients across TMT, manufacturing, and consumer business sectors.

Verma joins BDO from MNP, where he was a partner. Before that, he was a senior manager in Deloitte’s audit practice.

Verma has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Calcutta and is a chartered professional accountant.

Wong brings 25+ years of experience providing audit and advisory services, with extensive expertise advising on complex accounting and financial reporting matters under international and US standards.

He has supported clients across TMT, energy, mining, manufacturing, and financial services, among other industries.

Wong joins BDO from Manning Elliot Accountants & Business Advisors, where he was a partner. Before that, he was a partner at Deloitte.

Wong has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of British Columbia and is a chartered professional accountant.
