CIMA+ buys commercial management expert Lakeland Consulting
CIMA+, a national engineering consulting firm, has acquired Lakeland Consulting, an Oakville, ON consulting firm specializing in commercial management services for construction projects.
Founded in 2007, Lakeland helps clients manage risk, collaborate with supply chain partners, and navigate the design, construction, and post-construction stages of major projects. The firm works with owners, contractors, insurers, legal counsel, and other parties.
Lakeland has practices in contract management, claims management, quantity surveying, expert services, fairness services, and business improvement.
The boutique firm has 32 employees listed on LinkedIn.
CIMA+’s acquisition of Lakeland, which closed on November 1, adds a new commercial services offering to its portfolio and expands the Quebec firm’s presence in the Greater Toronto Area.
“The acquisition of Lakeland Consulting represents an important step in supporting our growth in Ontario and across Canada, and in expanding our capacity to deliver integrated and comprehensive services in areas such as procurement, strategic advising, cost and schedule planning and management, risk management, as well as claims and disputes,” said Karen Freund, regional executive vice president for Ontario at CIMA+.
CIMA+ was founded in 1990 and has 3,500 people across 40+ offices in Canada. The firm provides consulting engineering services in energy and resources, infrastructure, transportation, buildings, project management, operational and digital technologies, and earth and environment.
The Laval, QC-based firm recently promoted Eric Martin to senior vice president of information technology.
