BDO adds Matthew Westphalen as partner in BSO business
BDO, a mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has hired Matthew Westphalen as a partner in the financial reporting and insights practice within the business services and outsourcing BSO) service line.
Based in Ottawa, Westphalen brings more than 20 years of accounting and consulting experience working primarily with small- and medium-sized businesses. He has provided audit, financial reporting, and audit control advice to clients across construction, real estate, retail, mining, professional services, non-profit, and information technology.
Westphalen most recently spent 15 years with Crowe BGK, where he was a partner in the Ottawa office. Earlier in his career, he was a senior associate auditor at PwC and EY.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Université du Québec en Outaouais and is a chartered professional accountant.

The BSO service line provides outsourced offerings in payroll, cloud accounting, financial reporting and tax filings, people advisory, and CFO and controllership services.
Jocelyn Plamondon recently joined the CFO and controllership services team within the BSO business.
