BDO Canada launches brand refresh

BDO, a mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has unveiled a refreshed brand identity.

The firm’s new tagline is “Do more together.” BDO says it reflects its commitment to collaboration, innovation, and a “human approach” to solving client challenges.

“The launch of ‘Do more together’ is more than a new tagline. It highlights the way our people work with our clients – whatever the ‘more’ is, we make it happen together,” said Tara Berze, chief marketing officer of BDO.

“The word for action, ‘do’, is literally in our name, and the firm’s branding now highlights BDO’s dedication to operating as a partner of choice for clients that value tangible results delivered with care,” Berze added.

BDO in Canada was founded in 1921 in Winnipeg by James “The Colonel” Dunwoody. The legacy Dunwoody accountancy merged with Toronto firm BDO Ward Mallette in the early 2000s and in 2010 the brand was simplified from BDO Dunwoody to BDO as a part of a global alignment of independent country firms.

Today, the Toronto-based firm has more than 4,500 professionals across 80+ offices in Canada.

The current brand refresh was executed in collaboration with Fellow Human, a boutique Toronto advertising agency.

“The ah-ha moment was when we realized that action, do, is right there in its name. It was hiding in plain sight and became impossible to ignore,” said Travis Cowdy, chief creative officer at Fellow Human. “This notion of doing helped us develop this new brand identity and design system. The visuals and design needed to inspire action and communicate BDO’s position as both an innovator with technical prowess and a true human-centric partner.”
