Egis acquires environmental consultancy Ecometrix
Egis, a Paris-headquartered architecture and engineering firm, has acquired Ecometrix, a Toronto-based environmental and water consulting firm.
Founded in 2004, Ecometrix provides environmental permitting and regulatory compliance consulting to clients in mining, nuclear, government, and the private sector.
The firm has 60 staff and two locations in Southern Ontario.
Egis’ acquisition of Ecometrix will double its environmental presence in Canada and expand its Canadian nuclear and mining practices. The deal will also enable it to offer more comprehensive in-house water resource services – including for larger industrial applications.
“This new acquisition continues the firm’s growth in Canada, strengthening our ability to support our clients’ needs,” said Greg Northcott, CEO of Egis in Canada. “The addition supports our strategic objective of growing our nuclear practice and environmental services, enabling us to provide a full spectrum of environmental services."
Egis’ North American business has 1,000+ people across 32 offices – including 13 in Canada. The French engineering firm has 22,000 people globally providing architecture, consulting, construction engineering, operations, and mobility services for infrastructure and buildings.
"Joining forces with Egis is an exciting opportunity for Ecometrix,” said Bruce Rodgers, CEO of Ecometrix. “The move fuels our collective growth and considerably enhances the services that we can provide to our clients."
