Aktion Associates acquires Deltek practice of AMR Group

Aktion Associates, a US-based software reseller and IT consulting firm, has acquired the Deltek practice of AMR Group, a Toronto-based management advisory and ERP consulting firm.

Founded in 1988 by Barry Goman, AMR started out as a business advisory firm before branching out into ERP consulting. Today, the firm is a Deltek partner, focusing on evaluation, implementation, training, and consulting services for the popular, project-based ERP platform for professional services companies.

AMR primarily supports architecture, engineering, and consulting firms. The boutique firm has 12 employees listed on LinkedIn.

The AMR transaction will expand Aktion’s Canadian operations, where it has a Toronto-area office, and add Deltek capabilities in Canada. The deal will add 100 Canadian Deltek customers to Aktion’s roster of approximately 8,500 clients.

Aktion says it is the largest Deltek value-added reseller across the US and Canada.

“AMR Group has built a strong legacy supporting Deltek clients in the Canadian architecture, engineering, and consulting sectors," said Scott Irwin, CEO of Aktion Associates. "Their deep industry knowledge, experienced team, and loyal customer base make them a perfect cultural and strategic fit for Aktion as we continue our growth across North America."

All AMR team members will join Aktion’s Canadian division, which is led by VP Dave Mullins.

“My team and I are very pleased to begin a new chapter in our history with Aktion," Goman said. "We’re fortunate to have found an organization that matches up so well with our customer-first culture and long-term goals.”

Aktion was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. The firm has 250+ employees providing software reselling and IT infrastructure services for technology partners including Deltek, Sage, Acumatica, and Infor. Aktion primarily serves the architecture and engineering, construction, wholesale distribution, and manufacturing industries.

The firm has practices in ERP consulting, managed IT, cloud hosting, and cybersecurity solutions.
